B-Ball Blues.

Basketball has been a favorite sport of many Filipinos. It does not only teaches one how to pass and shoot but it builds friendships that can last a lifetime. With great support for the game, many Filipinos have brought their fanaticism not only in the courts but in the screens. Filipinos have enjoyed watching through their local leagues and of course, the NBA.

During the last NBA season, the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers fought for the championship title. I seriously rooted for the Celtics. It is just too bad that they lost.

If the Celtics won, they would have broke a new record for the most number of championships won by a sinle team. Uggh, I feel bad for them.

Honestly, I don't like basketball that much. In the place were I grew up, you are like a loser if you don't know how to play the game. I know how but I don't enjoy it as much as them. But I guess, basketball is their life. Many of my childhood friends include members of the Team Pilipinas Women's Basketball team, NCAA and UAAP teams.

Perhaps, the only reason that the Celtics-Lakers game means much to me is that it brings happiness to most of my friends. It is a reason for us to tease each other depending on the teams we root for.

But then again, I hope the Celtics win next season so I can shove it to my friend's face.

A Princess Upgrade

Online Princess. A funny title to contemplate, but that was how my friends describe me. They repeatedly remind me that I am the person they already expect upon their visibility on their Yahoo Messenger and I will still be the last person standing before they go. It may have been an exaggeration on their part or a denial from me but nonetheless, I really spend hours in front of my laptop. Even my parents scold me for doing nothing at home but stay rooted in front of the computer throughout the day. Apparently, it had become obvious to them that I was doing nothing worthwhile. I waste my time reading fan fictions and manga online or even play RPGs and crosswords. They already knew my online schedule. The wee hours of morning were the time I allot doing my school assignments.

But then again, there were times when I have the urge to look for something to actually do during my hypnotic state in front of the computer. I was searching for scholarships and part-time work. It was that moment that I chanced upon Essays.ph on the Jobstreet list. I quickly clicked the page to redirect it to its description. Upon seeing I could fit the job, I hesitantly opened the actual website to register, only to exit it in a couple minutes after. I had serious doubts on my writing skills after a series of flop grades on both my editing and composing activities but the desire to earn more steered me to finally register and apply for the job.

Upon my acceptance, I immediately checked the online workplace. Studying everything I needed to know, I hopped on the wagon of online writers and before I knew it I got my first salary. Isn’t it anything but sweet? I soon had a barrage of writing opportunities waiting to be grabbed. But it was not only the money that kept me going. I met a lot of people who share similar interests and people who were willing to help me improve my writing skills. Even if I don’t actually know them physically, I’m very much grateful for their continued support. This online work actually helped me improved not only my skills but my sense of responsibility. The deadlines set for each work helped me practice swift accurate writing.

Now, I still continue to write for Essays.ph and I’m still the “online princess” my friends call me but I won’t be embarrassed to admit the latter. I just had an upgrade. This girl is not just the online bum she used to be. I am proud to announce that I am actually doing something productive while slaving in front of the computer and it’s all because of Essays.ph.

By the end of this year, I would probably achieve the title, Online Queen. Perhaps I would, but only time can tell. All I know, this experience changed a lot in me.

Nostalgia and the present

I'm finally updating after a very long hibernation. It had been a good 3 months-I think since my last post. I'm feeling a little homesick. No, I'm not staying in a dorm or a boarding house. I'm missing my almost second home-MASCI. Back when I was still there in my pseudo-heaven-slash-pseudo-hell on earth I was hoping that I could leave its borders already. But now that I'm far beyond that domicile all I could wish is to relieve the moments and spend some time in there again. Heck, I haven't even got the chance to visit Manila anymore.

Well, Maybe sometime in the future I can go roaming again around the halls of Bordner and Maceda.

To the people I already miss- daine, angeli, xtina, sheena, lorr, pia and many others i'm too lazy to write: hope to see you soon!

Hmmm...

Enough of my nostalgic feeling.

I'm actually and officially a college student. I won't say it's easy nor hard but well i find it a little fun. I have a lot of free time. Really, I couldn't feel the stress I felt back then. I say I might just be lucky in picking subjects and professors. Some people I know have a very hectic sched. They've got lots of quizzes, reports, test and the like. It's not that I don't have some of those things too but in my case it's just rare that my profs give them. Heehee... And to my surprise I'm actually enjoying my PE. Duckpin bowling. Well, it is frustrating unable to pass but still I get loads of laughs and smirks while playing. What could I say, my group in bowling rocks!

especially to my MOM! You Are Simply The Best though I doubt you would read this.

Many suprising things have been occurring for me for this past few days and I kind of like it!
1. Got Money! Ahaha.. It's not surprising but I LIKE IT!
2. Old friends are resurfacing! And when I say old friends, they are really old from way back but not old for the age. The barkada members from the grade school department are one by one popping out either in malls or in my fone or in ym. And i'm ecstatic because we plan to get together!! whoo!
3. I finally finished the 13th chapter of my fic! Dazelle, yay! sorry for the late update.
4. And a lot more things that I'm to lazy to write..

10 Things I do when I'm depressed...

(might help you too if you're going to read this.)

1. Eat!! Got cravings for ice cream, fries or chocolate when I'm depressed. Well, maybe even if I ain't but these foods really make me feel good. (sounds good. but beware! you might realize after you're through with your depression you weigh twice your weight before. and this would make you depressed again)
2. Visit a park or just a place where I could see children playing. (might trigger some good memories and besides you could probably see how carefree those children are!)
3. Write! I write when I'm depressed. This where I get my out-of-this-world-ideas! (drawing could be another option. isn't it when were depressed our best skills come out?)
4. Read. (this helps your mind divert from thinking what's the reason for your depression into contemplating into the book you're reading)
5. Take a bath. (relaxation and rejuvenation! do i need to say more?)
6. Sleep. (its to ease up the dejection and just to forget about everything)
7. Play a game. (hmm.. same reason with reading. but if you know you're definitely going to lose then don't try this it may depress you more)
8. Call a friend. (i guess i don't need to explain this. right?)
9. Watch tv (haha.. a piece of heaven on earth. but don't watch those soap operas it may have themes that coincides the reason for your depression)
10. Shop! Shop! Shop! (it actually feels good to shop just don't regret if you lose those allowances that you saved)

gawd. do i look like a shrink? nyahaha..

finally finish my new blog. this would serve as my outlet for all those frustrations!!! haha.. but i'm thinking of writing my top 10s here and some cracked up essays and randomness. who cares anyway? this is mine right?! but of course everyone has the right to question what's written here...
